Our 12 blue girls played their first home game of the season against Bridge United & despite a slow start finished the game with an emphatic 7 nil win. The home teams first goal came when centre forward Bella Quaglia burst through the Bridge defence & nearly broke the net with a powerful finish. Winger & captain Aoibhinn Kelly was causing Bridge all sorts of problems & set up Bella for her second after a brilliant run & cross down the right which Bella dispatched emphatically. Aoibhinn was once again the provider but this time for Siofra Croke O’Neill who slotted home to leave it 3 nil at halftime. Keeper Mollie Cottrell had a quiet enough day but made a brilliant double save at the start of the second half to keep the lead at 3. Bella Quaglia got the next 2 to finish the day with 4 goals. Aoibhinn Kelly got in on the act when she picked up the ball deep in her own half & went on a blistering run & beat 4 defenders to finish in the bottom corner. Siofra Croke O’ Neill finished the scoring with a tidy finish from a very tight angle. Player of the match has to go to Bella with her 4 goals.

Team - Mollie Cottrell, Ellen Davis, Saoirse Roche, Lily Dimond, Ava Begley, Rachel Dunne, Siofra Croke O’Neill, Aoibhinn Kelly(C), Bella Quaglia, Sarah Collins.
